As of today, the SSL certificate of griffin is signed a well-recognized commercial entity. The self-signed certificate is no longer used. Please undo the steps of installing the CA certificate of griffin on your computer, if you installed (Sorry to change the system setting in such a short time scale! On a positive note I think the security setting of the system is becoming better and better over time.). It will do no harm if you keep it, but there is no reason for you to keep it either. |
OUTDATED contents below this line.
It is quite possible that all these certificate businesses are quite overwhelming at first. Let me assume that and let me also suppose that all you want to do is read stuff from wiki sites, without ever registering or logging in, i.e. without ever having to enter any password. Then, one possible way is that you simply accept the security exception (temporarily) just to make your browser stop complaining.
This is a non-optimal solution and a non-long-term solution, but it is a short-term solution if you never plan to use any password. Firefox behaves the most agreeably (but perhaps not the most safely?) if you choose to do this. Below are some random resources to help you in this. Note that some instructions that you will find are actually related to the root CA certificate installation, the recommended solution for griffin in the link “SSL Recommended” above.
However, for any serious users of wikis in griffin, the above “SSL Recommended” link is recommended.
