  • The textbook for this course is Randy Harris, Modern Physics (2nd Edition), Addison Wesley.

This course is a new course in the physics department of UCSC, mirroring 101B. Its emphasis is on a better understanding of conceptual underpinnings of modern physics and how to think about physics. While basic mathematical skills are required and mathematical treatments of key physics will be covered, mathematical details that can be better covered in later specialized courses will be de-emphasized.
